Building a Strong Foundation for Life! School Background: Grace Lutheran School opened its doors in September 2001, supported by the congregation of Grace Lutheran Church. This church has been active in the Kenai-Soldotna area for almost 30 years. Grace Lutheran is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (known as WELS). Christian education is a 150-year tradition in our Lutheran church body. In fact, the WELS is the 4th largest private educator in the country. Over 42,000 children annually attend 343 early childhood schools, 354 elementary schools, and 25 secondary schools around the country.
Our School's Purpose:The mission of Grace Lutheran School is to provide ALL children with a CHRIST-CENTERED education. Our Mission Statement:Our purpose is to reach out equally to both members and non-members with the good news that "God in Christ Jesus has forgiven you your sins," and to help children appreciate the joy of living for God in this world, as well as anticipate the joy of living with God in the next world. Family Centered:We embrace the concept that when we enroll the student, we enroll the family. We work to strengthen and support the whole family as we have the opportunity. We encourage all our parents to be involved in the schooling of their children. Our school is large enough to provide some "big school" opportunities, yet small enough to "feel like family". Values:Children at Grace Lutheran School are taught to be honorable, respectful, and well-mannered. We strive to develop virtue in a culture where authority is questioned and truth is relative. Academics:Grace Lutheran School offers a quality curriculum that is comprehensive, developmentally appropriate, and sequentially consistent. The course of study at Grace Lutheran is designed to provide for a truly well rounded education: spiritual, physical, academic, and social. |
